Ellis County Wheat Plot Tour June 5

Kansas

Beginning at 6 p.m., June 5 the annual Ellis County Extension Wheat Plot Tour will be held. Growers can see and compare 11 different wheat varieties planted side by side.

As always, some of the latest private and public releases are in the plot to see how they perform in our area. Brian Olson, NW area agronomist, will be on hand to discuss the wheat varieties, diseases and to answer any agronomic questions you may have. Dan O'Brien, the K-State NW area economist, will give a brief talk on the wheat and grain market outlooks.

The plot is located 2.5 miles north of the Victoria I-70 Exit at the junction of Cathedral and Fairground Road.

Following the tour, there will be a free meal and refreshments sponsored by businesses in the county. All interested people are invited to attend. No RSVP required. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Victoria, 503 Main Street.

If you need further directions or have any questions call 785-628-9430.
