Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 3,270 head May 28, compared to 4,508 head last week and 1,627 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold steady to $3 lower. Heifers sold $2 to $5 higher. Demand was good, with a large attendance. Steers comprised 50% of the run, heifers 50%, with 89% over 600 pounds.

Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 489 lbs., 121.00; 12 head, 561 lbs., 112.00; 6 head, 828 lbs., 99.00; 34 head, 898 lbs., 102.00.
