4-H youth educator joins Carbon County Extension office May 19Wyoming Shawna Potter will join the Carbon County University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service office in Rawlins, May 19, as the 4-H youth Extension educator. Potter, who will graduate this month from Colorado State University with a master's degree in agriculture Extension education, has an extensive background in 4-H and working with others to develop and coordinate programs, said Susan James, UW CES federal relations and staff development coordinator. "Shawna's 4-H background is broad and diverse; she has experience in animal science projects and clothing, dog, cake decorating and Junior Leadership," said James. "This experience will be an asset to the 4-H youth program in Carbon County." Potter is a 2006 CSU graduate with a bachelor's degree in agriculture education. A 10-year member of 4-H in Pueblo County, Colo., she brings experience working as a 4-H intern in Pueblo County the summers of 2004, 2005 and 2006; and, in 2007, she worked as the youth livestock intern in Weld County, Colo. 6/2/08 Date: 5/27/08
