Tulia livestock auction reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,955 head June 9, compared to 4,830 head last week and 3,525 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $3 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 3% of the offering, replacement cows less than 1%, and feeders 96%. The feeder supply included 61% steers and 39% heifers, with nearly 74% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
