Tulia livestock auction report

The Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,955 head June 9, compared to 4,830 head last week and 3,525 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $3 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 3% of the offering, replacement cows less than 1%, and feeders 96%. The feeder supply included 61% steers and 39% heifers, with nearly 74% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, lot 290 lbs., 144.00; package 323 lbs., 130.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 113.50 to 116.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 114.00 to 116.00, package 573 lbs., 111.00; package 611 lbs., 111.50, load 623 lbs., thin 113.00, 650 to 700 lbs., 108.50 to 110.00; 700 to 775 lbs., 108.00 to 108.85; 800 to 825 lbs., 106.00, 850 to 900 lbs., 100.00 to 104.25; two loads 918 lbs., 100.00 to 104.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package 305 lbs., 141.00; 450 to 475 lbs., 111.00 to 113.50; 525 to 575 lbs., 109.25 to 114.00; 600 to 675 lbs., 105.00 to 109.00; 700 to 725 lbs., 107.00 to 108.00; package 800 lbs., 105.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1200 to 1600 lbs., 50.00 to 53.00; high dressing, 54.00 to 55.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 48.00 to 50.00; high dressing, 52.00 to 54.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 49.00 to 54.00; 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1000 lbs., 45.00 to 50.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1600 to 1900 lbs., 67.00 to 72.00; high dressing, 1875 lbs., 74.00; low dressing, 1125 to 1600 lbs., 62.00 to 65.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young to middle-aged, 1000 to 1550 lbs., 4 to 8 months bred, 600.00 to 800.00 per head; aged, 825 to 1500 lbs., 4 to 8 months bred, 510.00 to 710.00 per head.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young to middle-aged, 800 to 1500 lbs., with 100- to 200-lb. calves, 675.00 to 900.00 per pair.
