Texhoma livestock sales

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 850 head June 11, compared to 826 head last week and 1,450 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma, Okla.

Compared to last week, there was no test on feeder steers and no recent sales to test trends on feeder heifers. There was a limited test on steer and heifer calves. Demand was moderate for all classes. Fill was average, few full. The supply included 20% steers, 73% heifers with 74% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady to $1 lower. A total of 308 cows and bulls sold with 36% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 343 lbs., 133.00; 7 head, 398 lbs., 121.00; 30 head, 628 lbs., 113.10; 10 head, 770 lbs., 107.00. Small and medium frame 1, 8 head, 494 lbs., 120.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 440 lbs., 121.50; 5 head, 460 lbs., 105.50; 7 head, 610 lbs., 99.50.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 6 head, 518 lbs., 50.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 344 lbs., 108.00; 6 head, 481 lbs., 105.00; 5 head, 594 lbs., 100.50 fleshy; 5 head, 644 lbs., 104.50; 14 head, 791 lbs., 92.50; 6 head, 825 lbs., 90.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 24 head, 592 lbs., 105.00; 148 head, 676 lbs., 103.50. Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 653 lbs., 103.50; 10 head, 806 lbs., 88.00; 5 head, 879 lbs., 87.50.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 5 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1100 to 1500 lbs., 53.25. Boners, 24 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1400 lbs., 52.50 to 54.50; high dressing, 55.00 to 56.50; low dressing, 49.00 to 52.25. Lean, 42 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 50.50 to 53.50; high dressing, 54.00 to 56.50; low dressing, 48.50 to 50.50. Light, 18 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 1000 lbs., 48.00; low dressing, 44.50 to 47.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 24 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 69.50 to 72.00; high dressing, 75.50 to 78.00; low dressing, 61.50 to 68.50.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 to 3 years old, 1000 to 1150 lbs., 250-lb. to 400-lb. calves, high blacks, 1300.00 to 1375.00; 4 years old, 1025 to 1150 lbs., with 100- to 300-lb. calves, high blacks, 1100.00 to 1275.00; 3 to 4 years old, 900 lbs., with 100- to 275-lb. calves, average blacks, 960.00 to 1060.00; 6 to 7 years old, 875 to 1050 lbs., with 100- to 350-lb. calves, average blacks, 835.00 to 890.00 thin; 6 to 7 years old, 1100 to 1350 lbs., with 125- to 150-lb. calves, average quality, 885.00 to 940.00; 8 to 9 years old, 900 to 1050 lbs., with 150- to 300-lb. calves, average blacks, 860.00 to 885.00 thin.
