Pratt livestock auction reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 2,401 head June 5, compared to 3,328 head last week and 2,443 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, steers at 700 to 1000 pounds were $1 to $2 higher, heifers at 750 to 950 pounds were steady to firm in a limited supply of medium and large frame No. 1 steers, and 300- to 700-pound heifers at 300 to 750 pounds were steady in a limited test. Slaughter cows and bulls were weak to $2 lower. Trade was active, demand was good. Receipts included 78% 600 pounds and over, 12% 600 pounds and under, 10% cows and bulls.
