Georgia livestock sales report

The summary of Georgia cattle auctions, for the week ending June 6, totaled 11,538 head, compared to 8,943 head last week and 16,215 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga.

Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 lower, feeder steers were steady to $3 lower, steer calves were steady to $2 lower, heifers and heifer calves were steady to $1 lower, replacement cows were steady to $2 higher. The offering included 9% steers over 600 pounds, 36% steers under 600 pounds, 4% heifers over 600 pounds, 26% heifers under 600 pounds, 7% feeder cows, 15% slaughter cows and 2% bulls.
