Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 1,380 head June 5, compared to 2,436 head last week and 1,924 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers under 600 pounds were firm, over 600 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers were $1 to $3 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were $2 lower. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 16% of the offering, slaughter bulls 2%, replacement cows 4%, and feeders 78%. The feeder supply included 59% steers and 41% heifers, with nearly 42% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
