Amarillo livestock auction report

The Amarillo Livestock Auction, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,333 head June 10, compared to 1,232 head last week and 1,459 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $3 lower, except 600 to 800-pound steers were steady. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Trade and demand was moderate to good. Slaughter cows made up 7% of the offering, slaughter bulls 2%, replacement cows 3% and feeders 88%. The feeder supply included 58% steers and 42% heifers, with nearly 41% of the run over 600 pounds.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 400 lbs., 125.00 to 131.00; lot 424 lbs., 129.00, package 493 lbs., 111.00; package 505 lbs., 117.00, package 557 lbs., full 106.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 111.00 to 115.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 106.25 to 109.50; 800 to 900 lbs., 101.50 to 105.00; 900 to 1000 lbs., 97.00 to 100.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package 353 lbs., 111.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 105.00 to 110.00, package 410 lbs., thin 122.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 101.00 to 109.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 106.00 to 111.50; lot 777 lbs., 107.50, package 752 lbs., fleshy 97.50; package 1194 lbs., fleshy 81.00. Medium and large frame 2, 600 to 630 lbs., 101.00 to 102.50. Medium and large frame 2 to 3, 400 to 450 lbs., 60.00 to 60.50; 613 to 620 lbs., 61.50 to 80.00. Small and medium frame 3 to 4, 375 to 400 lbs., 48.00 to 58.00; lot 575 lbs., 45.00; package 757 lbs., 44.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 500 to 600 lbs., 104.00 to 105.00; 665 to 673 lbs., 97.00 to 101.00.

Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 335 to 400 lbs., 108.00 to 112.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 106.00 to 108.00, package 471 lbs., full 100.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 104.00 to 107.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 102.50 to 108.50; 700 to 750 lbs., 99.00 to 99.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package 330 lbs., 104.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 100.00 to 106.00, package 423 lbs., full 97.00; 545 to 600 lbs., 98.00 to 103.25; two packages 627 to 685 lbs., 97.50 to 98.00; load 796 lbs., 98.25. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1200 to 1300 lbs., 53.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 53.00 to 54.50; low dressing, 50.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 50.00 to 53.50; high dressing, 54.00 to 54.50; 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1000 lbs., 45.50 to 49.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1650 to 1950 lbs., 68.50 to 72.00; high dressing, 2100 to 2150 lbs., 72.50 to 74.50; low dressing, 1450 to 1530 lbs., 60.00 to 65.50.

Bred cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 850 to 1100 lbs., 5 to 8 months bred, 710.00 to 930.00 per head; middle-aged, 1150 to 1450 lbs., 5 to 7 months bred, 740.00 to 830.00 per head; aged, 900 to 1150 lbs., 7 to 8 months bred, 550.00 to 660.00 per head.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, middle-aged, 1100 to 1300 lbs., with 200- to 350-lb. calves, 800.00 to 1025.00/pair; aged, 900 to 1100 lbs., with 75- to 350-lb. calves, 720.00 to 800.00/pair, thin 580.00 to 630.00/pair. Small and medium frame 1 to 2, young to middle-aged, 600 to 750 lbs., with 150- to 300-lb. calves, 670.00 to 750.00/pair.
