Tulsa livestock sales report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,254 head June 30, compared to 2,434 head last week, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steers calves and feeder steers were steady to $2 higher. Heifers calves were $2 lower, with feeder heifers were mostly steady. Moderate demand on calves with very good demand on feeders. Good attendance of buyers. Receipts included 37% steers, 49% heifers, 14% bulls, with 26% over 600 pounds A total of 452 cows and bulls sold with 50% going to packers. Slaughter cows and bulls sold fully steady compared to last week with greater interest on bred cows this week.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 23 head, 1400 to 2165 lbs., 71.00 to 74.50; high dressing, 75.00 to 80.50; low dressing, 66.50 to 70.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 to 6 years old, 1200 to 1300 lbs., 5 to 7 months bred, high blacks 900.00 to 950.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 4 to 5 years old, 1050 to 1200 lbs., with 150- to 300-lb. calves, high blacks 1300.00 to 1450.00
