Tulia livestock sales report

The Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 1,251 head June 30, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 2% of the offering, replacement cows less than 1%, and feeders 97%. The feeder supply included 35% steers and 65% heifers, with nearly 46% of the run over 600 pounds.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, package 290 lbs., 141.00; 340 to 370 lbs., 130.00 to 134.00; package 429 lbs., 126.00, lot 489 lbs., 122.25; load 560 lbs., 118.50; lot 605 lbs., 115.00; lot 744 lbs., 109.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, lot 536 lbs., 111.00; lot 641 lbs., 107.50; 730 to 760 lbs., 107.00 to 108.00; package 940 lbs., 94.00.

Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 115.00 to 121.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 109.00 to 111.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 110.00 to 116.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 103.00 to 107.00; couple loads 758 lbs., 104.50; lot 846 lbs., 92.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 540 to 600 lbs., 108.00 to 108.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 101.00 to 103.00; lot 740 lbs., 99.50.

Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1200 to 1600 lbs., 52.00 to 55.00; 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 51.75 to 55.00; high dressing, 55.00 to 57.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 45.00 to 48.00; high dressing 52.50; 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1000 lbs., 43.75 to 47.00; 85 to 90% lean, under 800 lbs., 45.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1605 lbs., 62.50; high dressing, 1485 to 1850 lbs., 70.00 to 74.00; low dressing, 1585 to 1965 lbs., 60.00 to 61.50.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young to middle-aged, 1165 lbs., 6 to 8 months bred, 600.00 per head.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young to middle-aged, 1250 lbs., with 150-lb. calves, 925.00 per pair.
