Springfield livestock sales

The Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 1,485 head June 25, compared to 2,83 head last week and 2,110 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo.

Compared to last week, steers under 650 pounds were $2 to $4 lower, over 650 pounds were steady to $2 lower, Holsteins under 700 pound were steady, few 700 weights were $4 to $8 higher, 800 to 950 pounds were steady to $5 higher, heifers were steady to $2 lower. Demand and supply were moderate. The offering consisted of mostly small drafts of calves and yearlings. A couple days of dry weather has allowed farmers back into the fields to continue fescue and hay harvest. The feeder supply included 40% steers, 11% Holsteins, 36% heifers, 14% bulls, with 41% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 525 to 600 lbs., 110.00 to 115.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 111.00 to 115.00, calves 106.00 to 109.00; lot 733 lbs., 109.50, package 801 lbs., 107.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package 369 lbs., thin 117.00; 400 to 450 lbs., thin 115.00 to 123.00, 450 to 500 lbs., 107.00 to 114.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 104.00 to 110.00, thin 112.00 to 116.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 105.50 to 109.00, calves 100.00 to 105.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 102.50 to 108.00; 800 to 900 lbs., few 95.50 to 96.00.

Holsteins: Large frame 3, 375 to 400 lbs., 70.00 to 72.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 70.00 to 77.00; package 558 lbs., 70.00; lot 633 lbs., 70.00; 700 to 710 lbs., 75.00 to 80.00; 825 to 875 lbs., 75.00 to 75.50; lot 935 lbs., 74.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, package 313 lbs., 109.00; 425 to 500 lbs., 98.00 to 103.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 97.00 to 109.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 95.00 to 101.50, calves 90.00 to 98.50; 700 to 750 lbs., 88.50 to 95.50; package 836 lbs., 91.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 350 lbs., 105.50 to 106.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 90.00 to 104.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 90.00 to 98.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 86.00 to 97.00, package calves 85.00; package 753 lbs., 85.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 525 to 600 lbs., 99.00 to 112.00; 600 to 655 lbs., calves 93.50 to 97.00; package 708 lbs., 91.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 113.50 to 124.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 96.00 to 106.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 95.00 to 98.50.
