Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,598 head June 26, compared to 1,210 head last week and 1,008 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, steers at 650 to 1000 pounds were firm to $1 higher and heifers at 650 to 850 pounds were steady in a limited supply. There were not enough other classes and/or weights for an accurate market test, but a steady to firm undertone was noted. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows in a limited test were $1 to $3 higher. Slaughter bulls in a limited test were $2 to $5 higher. Receipts included 76% 600 pounds and over, 20% 600 pounds and under, 4% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 40% steers and 60% heifers.
