Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, June 27, totaled 2,249 head of sheep and goats, compared to 2,329 head last week and 1,234 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Lightweight slaughter lambs were $10 to $15 higher, heavy weights were not tested. Stocker and feeder goats were $15 to $20 higher. Slaughter goats were $15 to $20 lower. Demand was good. The supply included around 40% sheep including nearly 400 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 80 to 120 lbs., 30.00 to 58.00. Dorper bucks, 100.00 to 125.00 per head. Barbados ewes: 60 to 90 lbs., 30.00 to 45.00. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 200.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 85.00 to 92.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 90 to 130 lbs., 20.00 to 30.00. Slaughter bucks, 150 to 250 lbs., 20.00 to 38.00. Barbados lambs, 40 to 70 lbs., 70.00 to 80.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 96.00 to 113.00, few to 115.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 95.00 to 112.00, few to 114.00. Selection 2, 60 to 80 lbs., 85.00 to 95.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 25.00 to 40.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 70.00 to 87.00. Muttons, Selection 1, 80 to 110 lbs., 87.00 to 102.00.
