Georgia livestock sales summary

The summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending June 27, showed receipts of 13,422 head, compared to 10,879 head last week and 12,803 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga.

Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were steady to $2 higher, bulls were steady to $1 higher, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $4 higher, steer calves were $2 to $3 higher, heifer calves were $2 to $4 higher, replacement cows were steady to $3 higher. The supply included 8% steers over 600 pounds, 33% steers under 600 pounds, 6% heifers over 600 pounds, 24% heifers under 600 pounds, 7% feeder cows, 20% slaughter cows and 2% bulls.
