Dalhart cattle sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 2,051 head June 26, compared to 1,624 head last week and 1,107 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to firm. Slaughter cows and bulls were $3 to $5 higher. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 225- to 750-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 29% of the offering, slaughter bulls 1%, replacement cows 10%, and feeders 60%. The feeder supply included 70% steers and 30% heifers, with nearly 40% over 600 pounds. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, 200 to 300 lbs., 152.00 to 158.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 132.00 to 136.00, three packages 317 to 327 lbs., 144.00 to 148.50; three packages 400 to 482 lbs., 109.00 to 126.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 111.00 to 118.00, lot 536 lb. yearlings 121.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 110.00 to 113.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 106.50 to 108.00.
