Brand board names chief inspectorPIERRE, S.D. (AP)--The South Dakota Brand Board has named Wray Shouldis as the new chief brand inspector. The Brand Board will take over the program in early July. It had been run by the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association since the 1940s, but the two groups could not agree on a new contract. Shouldis, who is from White River, has been a livestock inspector for seven years. He will now supervise the inspection program. Shouldis replaces Jim Reed, who recently resigned after serving as chief brand inspector for 16 years. State law requires brand inspections when cattle, horses and mules are sold or are moved out of the West River area. 7/7/08 Date: 7/1/08 Advertisement
