Wyobraska cattle sales reportThe Wyoming, western Nebraska, and western North and South Dakota auctions for the week ending July 19, totaled 4,742 head, compared to 1,160 head last week and 12,791 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News, Torrington, Wyo. Compared to last week at Wyoming auctions, feeder steers and heifers were not well tested. Demand was moderate. Direct trading was slow to moderate. Buyer inquiry and demand were light to moderate. Some interest was noted for fall contracting of cattle. Unless otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 2 to 3% shrink or equivalent and with a 5 to 10 cent from base weight. Steers made up approximately 30% of the supply, heifers 70%, with 92% over 600 pounds. Direct sales accounted for 4470 head of the total receipts. Steers: Auctions, Medium and large frame 1 725 lbs., 115.00; 940 lbs., 110.00; 1070 lbs., 101.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2 , 860 lbs., 103.00. Direct, Medium and large frame 1, FOB price, calves 640 to 700 lbs., 115.75 to 118.50 November; calves 685 lbs., 114.00 Jan; 785 lbs., 110.00 December. Delivered price, 825 lbs., 117.00. Heifers: Auctions, Medium and large frame 1, 760 lbs., 103.50. Direct, Medium and large frame 1, FOB price, 550 lbs., 113.50 to 115.50 October to November; 700 lbs., 111.00; 825 to 860 lbs., 105.00 to 109.00; 825 lbs., 108.00 September; 860 lbs., 109.00. Delivered price, none.
