Tulia livestock sales reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 1,214 head July 21, compared to 1,725 last week and 2,706 last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 200- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 9 percent of the offering, replacement cows less than 1 percent, and feeders 90 percent. The feeder supply included 56 percent steers and 44 percent heifers. Nearly 64 percent of the run weighed more than 600 pounds.
