Pratt 3 p.m. cattle sales

Pratt Livestock Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported estimated receipts of 3,500 head, as of 3 p.m., July 24, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared with last week steers at 750 to 900 pounds were steady in a very limited supply; and those at 900 to 1000 pounds were firm to $1 higher. Heifers at 700 to 900 pounds were firm to $2 higher. Steers 750 pounds and under and heifers 700 pounds and under, with limited sales, were not enough for a market test.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 790 lbs., 113.35; 750 to 800 lbs., 113.00 to 113.50; 800 to 850 lbs., 112.00 to 113.75; 900 to 950 lbs., 108.25 to 111.25; 950 to 1000 lbs., 106.50 to 108.75; 57 head, 1003 lbs., 107.35.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 53 head, 636 lbs., 108.00; 58 head, thin 694 lbs., 111.25; 700 to 750 lbs., 107.35 to 109.35; 750 to 800 lbs., 105.10 to 108.25; 18 head, thin 755 to 764 lbs., 109.10 to 109.85; 56 head, 839 lbs., 106.60; 850 to 900 lbs., 105.25 to 105.75.
