Market analyst to update NW Iowa ICA members July 28

Iowa

Cattle-Fax Market Analyst Kevin Good will keynote the 2nd annual ICA NW Iowa Regional Meeting to be held in Emmetsburg July 28.

"With volatile cattle and grain markets adding uncertainty to the marketplace, we felt this was an ideal topic to headline our regional meeting," said ICA Regional Vice President Craig White. "All cattle producers and interested persons are invited."

The meeting will be held at the Wild Rose Casino. There is no registration fee and a complimentary lunch will be served. The meeting will have two phases. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the program will kick-off at 9:30 a.m., with a Verified Iowa Preconditioned (VIP) seminar. Representatives from ISU's College of Veterinary Medicine, ISU Extension, Spencer Livestock Sales, Iowa Beef Industry Council and ICA will be involved.

At 11 a.m. the ICA portion of the program will begin. Kevin Good will address the group discussing both fed and feeder cattle outlook, crop conditions and the outlook for weather. ICA President Kevin Carstensen and Executive Vice President Bruce Berven will jointly present a "State of ICA" address. Updates will be given on a potential rule to limit application of manure on frozen ground and other DNR rule changes relating to manure stockpiling, etc.

A Regional Nominating Committee will be elected as well as an election of a Northwest Regional ICA Vice-President.

All cattle producers and agri-business entities interested in attending are asked to RSVP for the luncheon and register their attendance to the ICA office by July 21 at 515-296-2266.
