Watertown livestock sales

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 700 head July 16, compared to 750 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

No recent price comparison was available however, a steady to firm undertone was noted. Feeder steers made up 80% of the sale, feeder heifers 20%, with 100% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 15 head, 907 to 926 lbs., 105.75 to 106.50 (106.20); 965 to 966 lbs., 105.00 to 106.75 (106.20); 1050 to 1084 lbs., 102.25 to 104.80 (104.05). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 18 head, 713 lbs., 107.50; 33 head, 847 lbs., 103.10; 1006 to 1015 lbs., 96.50 to 96.75 (96.69); 10 head, 1139 lbs., 99.00 fleshy.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 766 lbs., 100.50; 855 to 879 lbs., 98.70 to 99.00 (98.74). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 732 lbs., 99.00; 11 head, 892 lbs., 96.75; 15 head, 1004 to 1005 lbs., 90.50 to 94.50 (91.57); 7 head, 1078 lbs., 94.50. Large frame 3, 5 head, 685 lbs., 92.00.
