Superior video auction report

The Superior Video Auction reported offerings of 330,000 head for the week of July 7 to July 11, according to the USDA -Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to the last sale, feeder steers and heifers mixed with yearlings over 600 pounds were $1 to $4 higher with most increase over 800 pounds and calves on the other hand were extremely uneven but in most cases weaker. Trade and demand was active on yearlings over 600 pounds and slow to moderate on calves under 700 pounds. The supply includes 50% feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds, 63% of supply were steers and 37% heifers. Prices FOB based on net weights after a 2 to 3% pencil shrink or equivalent, with a 3 to 6 cent slide on yearlings and 4 to 10 on calves. Deliveries current through March 2009.
