South Central direct sheep

The South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending July 11, showed receipts of 1,700 feeder lambs and 100 slaughter ewes, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to two weeks ago, feeder lambs were steady to $3 lower. There were no recent comparisons on slaughter ewes. There were no slaughter lambs, replacement ewes or slaughter meat goats. Trading and demand were moderate.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 1700 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 50 to 65 lbs., 94.00 to 96.00; 65 to 90 lbs., 95.00 to 100.00.

Slaughter ewes: Texas, 100 head, Utility 1 to 2, 17.00 to 19.00.
