Rainbow Meadows Equine Rescue to hold adoption, open house July 20Kansas Rainbow Meadows Equine Rescue and Retirement, Inc., will hold an adoption day and open house, July 20 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the ranch. The event will take place at 1949 Dalton Road, Sedan, Kan. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the ranch, meet rescues and possibly adopt a rescued and revitalized equine. Established in 2005, the ranch is now home for abused, neglected and abandoned horses, as well as being a "retirement" home for other equines. The 240-acre ranch is the life-long dream of owners, Karen and David Everhart. "Karen was a horse lover from birth and she and David had been looking for the opportunity to give back to the creatures that had brought her so much joy for so many years," the couple wrote on their website. According to their website, www.rainbowmeadowsranch.com, the ranch is home to a number of rescued, retired and donated horses, all of whom receive the utmost in care and love. All services provided by Rainbow Meadows Equine Rescue and Retirement, Inc. are funded entirely by gifts and donations. It is an IRS-designated 501(c)(3) public charity, and all contributions are tax deductible.
