Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kansas., reported receipts of 1,411 head July 10, compared to 1,598 head two weeks ago and 1,189 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with two weeks ago, on light supply, steers at 750 to 900 pounds were $2 to $3 higher and heifers at 700 to 850 pounds were $2 to $4 higher. All classes and grades of steers at 750 and under and heifers at 700 pounds and under were firm on a very light test. Trade and demand were moderate to good. Slaughter cows were $2 to $3 higher, slaughter bulls were steady to $2 higher. Receipts included 62% over 600 pounds, 23% under 600 pounds and 15% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply consisted of 59% steers and 41% heifers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 750 to 800 lbs., 112.75 to 115.75 (114.84); 800 to 850 lbs., 113.75 to 114.10 (114.00); 850 to 900 lbs., 110.60 to 114.00 (112.21).
