OKC West livestock reportThe OKC West Livestock Market Inc., El Reno, Okla., reported receipts of 6,728 head July 16, compared to 7,801 head last week and 4,024 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers steady to $2 lower. Demand was good for feeder cattle. Steer and heifer calves were steady, except fleshy unweaned calves were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate to good for calves. Quality of feeder cattle attractive with several large drafts included. Feeder cattle in medium to moderate flesh with average to full weigh to ups. Slaughter cows were steady to $3 lower. Slaughter bulls were $2 lower. Packer demand remains good. A total of 218 cows and bulls sold with 61% going to packers.
