Joplin feeder cattle sales

The Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, Mo., reported receipts of 4,500 head July 14, compared to 3,500 head last week and 4,171 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo.

Compared to last week, steers under 500 pounds were $1 to $3 lower, 500 to 700 pounds were steady, over 700 pounds were steady to $1 higher, heifers under 600 pounds were steady, over 600 pounds were steady to $2 higher. Demand and supply were moderate. The feeder supply included 47% steers, 45% heifers, 5% bulls, with 56% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 400 lbs., 122.00 to 123.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 118.00 to 122.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 112.00 to 122.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 112.25 to 119.50, calves 112.00 to 117.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 108.00 to 115.50; 800 to 900 lbs., 108.50 to 112.00; package 977 lbs., 103.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2 300 to 400 lbs., 117.00 to 126.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 109.00 to 119.00, thin 114.00 to 122.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 107.00 to 115.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 102.00 to 115.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 104.25 to 110.75; package 840 lbs., 108.00; 900 to 925 lbs., 103.00 to 105.00; lot 1006 lbs., 99.50.
