Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, July 11, reported receipts of 2,583 head of sheep and goats, compared to 3,201 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, no comparison was available due to the holiday closing last week. Demand was good. The supply included around 40% sheep including nearly 500 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 80 to 120 lbs., 33.00 to 69.00. Dorper bucks, 120.00 to 150.00 per head. Barbados ewes, 55 to 90 lbs., 26.00 to 44.00. Slaughter lambs: Choice and Prime 2 to 3, few Prime 93 lbs., 104.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3. 40 to 85 lbs., 90.00 to 109.00, few to 113.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 100 to 130 lbs., 30.00 to 40.00. Slaughter bucks, 100 to 200 lbs., 30.00 to 52.00.
