Faith livestock sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 650 head July 14, compared to 250 head two weeks ago, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. There were no feeder cattle offered in this sale. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $4 to $5 higher than two weeks ago. Buyer attendance was moderate with good demand. Receipts included about 43% slaughter cows, 5% slaughter bulls, 12% feeder cows, 31% spring calves and the balance was mostly heiferettes and feeder bulls. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1565 to 1800 lbs., 63.75 to 68.00; high dressing, 69.50; low dressing, 58.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1145 to 1540 lbs., 62.00 to 67.00; high dressing, 68.00 to 70.50; low dressing, 58.50 to 60.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1036 to 1475 lbs., 63.00 to 67.00; high dressing, 68.00 to 69.00; low dressing, 56.00 to 62.50. Feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1075 to 1365 lbs., middle aged 65.00 to 67.75. Aged 57.25 to 63.75. Large frame 1, 1395 to 1645 lbs. Young 69.00 to 70.50. Middle aged, 63.00 to 68.50. Spring calves: Medium and large frame 1, mixed sex, mostly black, 129 head, 375 lbs., 141.00 cwt. Medium and large frame 1, heifers, all black, 19 head, 408 lbs., 131.00 cwt. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, mixed sex, mostly black, 30 head, 276 lbs., 128.00 cwt. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1395 to 2335 lbs., 74.00 to 78.50; high dressing, 79.00 to 83.00; low dressing, 71.50 to 73.00.
