Dodge City livestock sales report

Dodge City Winter Livestock, Inc., reported receipts of 1,892 head July 9, compared to 839 head last week and 2,687 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared with last week, steers and heifers, all grades and weights, were steady in a limited supply. Slaughter cows were $4 to $6 higher. Slaughter bulls were $3 to $5 higher. Receipts included 60% 600 pounds and over, 33% 600 pounds and under, 7% slaughter cows and bulls with 136 head, early. The feeder supply included 85% steers and 15% heifers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 400 lbs., 151.00 to 155.00 (153.13); 400 to 450 lbs., 134.00 to 135.00 (134.14); 450 to 500 lbs., 127.00 to 128.00 (127.07); 550 to 600 lbs., 121.00 to 123.00 (121.99); 600 to 650 lbs., 117.50 to 119.50 (118.56); 850 to 900 lbs., 109.85 to 111.35 (110.60); 900 to 950 lbs., 106.50 to 107.85 (107.32); 48 head, 958 lbs., 107.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 114 head, 635 lbs., 118.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 113.00 to 113.50 (113.15); 6 head, 716 lbs., 112.00; 750 to 800 lbs., 110.00 to 111.75 (110.07); 800 to 850 lbs., 109.75 to 111.60 (111.05); 850 to 900 lbs., 109.50 to 110.00 (109.94). Medium and large frame 2, 500 to 550 lbs., 118.00 to 118.50 (118.19); 550 to 600 lbs., 115.00 to 121.00 (119.97); 8 head, 721 lbs., 110.50. Medium frame 2, 13 head, 631 lbs., 109.00. Large frame 2, 5 head, 680 lbs., 111.50; 700 to 750 lbs., 104.25 to 106.00 (105.42).

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 645 lbs., 116.00. Medium and large frame 2 5 head, 642 lbs., 105.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 350 lbs., 119.00 to 124.00 (121.91); 6 head, 374 lbs., 115.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 108.00 to 117.00 (113.82); 5 head, 537 lbs., 111.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 106.00 to 107.00 (106.60); 22 head, 685 lbs., 104.25; 23 head, 710 lbs., 105.10; 60 head, 792 lbs., 102.50; 69 head, 882 lbs., 103.75; 46 head, 861 lbs., 102.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 61.00 to 65.00; high dressing, 67.00 to 70.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 60.50 to 67.00; high dressing, 67.50 to 70.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 56.00 to 62.50; high dressing, 63.00 to 69.50; low dressing, 45.50 to 54.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 73.50 to 78.50; high dressing 81.00 to 84.00; low dressing, 59.50 to 71.00.
