West Plains cattle salesThe Ozarks Regional Stockyard, West Plains, Mo., reported receipts of 2,156 head July 8, compared to 2,266 head last week and 5,415 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold steady with instances of up to $2 higher mostly on steers over 600 pounds. The supply was light, mostly midsized drafts of heavy weight cattle, a percentage of the total offering weaned and having the desired two rounds of shots. Demand moderate. The feeder supply consisted of 50% steers, 8% bulls, 6% Holstein steers and 36% heifers, with 64% over 600 pounds.
