Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,724 head July 7, compared to 2,254 head last week and 1,884 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, stocker steers were mostly steady. Feeder steers were $1 to $2 higher. Stocker heifers and feeder heifers were $2 to $4 higher. Weigh-ups were mostly average, with very good demand on all classes of cattle. There was a higher instance of No. 1 cattle with good attendance of buyers. Receipts included 41% steers, 47% heifers, 10% bulls, with 29% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls fully steady, with best demand for lean high yielding cows. A total of 264 cows and bulls sold with 64% going to packers.
