Colorado feeder cattle auction

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 2,046 head July 3, compared to 681 head last week, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady on very limited offerings as many auction were closed for July 4th. Demand was good. The supply was made up of 88% feeder steers, 8% feeder heifers, and the balance was feeder bulls, with about 34% of total feeder supply over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, package 778 lbs., 102.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 397 lbs., 116.00; 400 to 410 lbs., 117.00 to 119.00; 500 to 530 lbs., 110.00 to 113.00; 550 to 570 lbs., 98.00 to 100.00; 620 to 640 lbs., 95.00 to 99.25; 723 lbs., 95.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 346 lbs., 114.00; 520 lbs., 106.50; 613 lbs., 104.50; 714 lbs., 101.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 410 to 470 lbs., 100.00 to 102.00; 550 to 570 lbs., 97.00 to 101.00
