Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 1,785 head July 9, compared to 1,600 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

No trends were applicable due to no sale last week, and a light run two weeks ago. Feeder steers and heifers sold on a good demand, with a large attendance. Steers comprised 24% of the run, heifers comprised 76%, with 90% of the supply over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 359 lbs., 500.00 per head; 7 head, 494 lbs., 128.00; 16 head, 550 lbs., 133.00; 41 head, 870 lbs., 112.50; 57 head, 910 lbs., 110.10; 26 head, 979 lbs., 105.85. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 8 head, 441 lbs., 84.00; 9 head, 587 lbs., 105.00.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 5 head, 740 lbs., 72.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 438 lbs., 114.00; 528 to 547 lbs., 113.50 to 116.50 (115.62); 7 head, 615 lbs., 110.00; 14 head, 662 to 677 lbs., 110.00 to 112.00 (110.99); 46 head, 746 lbs., 108.25; 753 to 754 lbs., 108.50 to 109.50 (108.71); 850 to 883 lbs., 106.00 to 111.75 (107.59); 950 to 958 lbs., 103.00 to 104.00 (103.42); 1059 to 1078 lbs., 95.85 to 101.00 (98.19); 45 head, 1143 lbs., 96.30; 46 head, 1171 lbs., 96.60.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 1026 lbs., 78.25 fleshy.
