CELLULOSIC ETHANOL--Scott Staggenborg, professor of agronomy at Kansas State University, presented information on the impact of cellulosic ethanol production on soil carbon at the CASMGS Carbon Forum Dec. 17 and 18 in Manhattan, Kan. GLOBAL CARBON CYCLE

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE--As one of 2,000 scientists that make up the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC) Dr. Charles Rice shared in the Nobel Peace Prize along with Al Gore. Dr. Rice is Director of the Soil Carbon Center at Kansas State University. Dr. Rice presented an IPPC report at the Carbon Forum held in Manhattan, Kan., Dec. 17 and 18.
