Texhoma cattle auction saleThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 576 head Jan. 23, compared to 2,160 head last week and 534 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma city, Okla. Compared to last week, there were not enough feeder cattle and calves on offer for a good market test, but a higher undertone was noted. Fill was average. Demand was good for all classes. The supply included 45% steers, 54% heifers with 33% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 91 cows and bulls sold with 70% to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 94 head, 580 lbs., 115.35; 7 head, 605 lbs., 100.50 calves; 17 head, 729 lbs., 103.00; 856 to 886 lbs., 94.25 to 94.75 (94.69). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 740 lbs., 98.50. Medium and large frame 2, 16 head, 472 lbs., 113.00; 6 head, 529 lbs., 98.00; 5 head, 603 to 625 lbs., 96.00 to 97.50 (96.61); 5 head, 669 lbs., 93.50. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 16 head, 355 to 381 lbs., 105.00 to 107.50 (107.20); 43 head, 454 to 495 lbs., 97.25 to 102.50 (101.82); 5 head, 530 lbs., 98.50; 556 to 562 lbs., 96.00 to 106.00 (105.00); 12 head, 649 lbs., 98.50 replacement; 36 head, 745 lbs., 95.00 replacement. Medium and large frame 2, 16 head, 575 to 586 lbs., 92.50 to 94.00 (93.54); 15 head, 610 to 627 lbs., 90.00 to 92.50 (92.01). Medium and large frame 3, 5 head, 737 lbs., 85.50.
