Presho cattle sales reportThe Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 2,315 head Jan. 17, compared to 2,595 head last week and 5,000 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to two weeks ago, since there was a bred cow and heifer sale last week, feeder steers sold $2 to $4 higher. Feeder heifers sold steady to $2 higher. Some potloads were on offer. The offering included 64% steers, 35% heifers, with 77% 600 pounds and over. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 508 to 538 lbs., 116.75 to 122.00 (119.65); 12 head, 506 lbs., 125.25 fancy; 567 to 594 lbs., 110.25 to 118.50 (115.37); 610 to 635 lbs., 109.25 to 112.25 (111.26) calves; 57 head, 603 lbs., 118.10 fancy; 656 to 699 lbs., 104.25 to 107.50 (106.44) calves; 708 to 715 lbs., 101.25 to 107.25 (105.02) calves; 754 to 791 lbs., 92.25 to 97.00 (96.18) calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 643 to 648 lbs., 106.00 to 106.50 (106.26) calves; 653 to 693 lbs., 98.25 to 102.75 (101.73) calves; 14 head, 739 lbs., 99.25 calves. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 455 lbs., 107.25; 509 to 537 lbs., 101.75 to 108.75 (106.26); 559 to 599 lbs., 102.25 to 106.50 (104.78); 609 to 632 lbs., 97.20 to 100.50 (98.64) calves; 4 head, 689 lbs., 90.25; 12 head, 688 lbs., 91.75 calves.
