Lexington livestock salesThe Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 2,050 head Jan. 18, compared to 2,100 head last week and 2,800 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, the bulk of steer and heifer receipts trended fully steady to $3 higher with instances of 600- to 700-pound steers trading as much as $4 to $6 higher. Demand was moderate to good and trade activity moderately active. Receipts consisted of 59% steers and 41% heifers with 68% of the total feeder cattle over 600 pounds.
