Dunlap cattle sales reportThe Dunlap Livestock Auction, Dunlap, Iowa, reported receipts of 1,258 head Jan. 18, compared to 2,171 head last week and 2,552 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa. This was a special preconditioned feeder cattle sale. There was good demand on a limited supply, and the light run was due to icy roads and the cattle couldn't make it in. Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady feeder heifers were $1 to $2 higher. Receipts included 61% feeder cattle over 600 pounds, 45% heifers and 55% steers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 316 lbs., 130.50; 409 to 446 lbs., 123.00 to 128.50 (124.45); 454 to 494 lbs., 116.00 to 122.75 (120.21); 514 to 547 lbs., 114.50 to 117.75 (116.10); 556 to 585 lbs., 112.00 to 116.75 (114.54); 608 to 642 lbs., 105.20 to 110.25 (107.75) calves; 660 to 673 lbs., 103.00 to 107.00 (105.63) calves; 704 to 743 lbs., 96.80 to 103.50 (100.01) calves; 768 to 789 lbs., 93.00 to 95.00 (94.57) calves; 26 head, 832 lbs., 93.10 to 93.60 (93.35) calves. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 435 to 443 lbs., 114.00 to 115.50 (114.97); 461 to 490 lbs., 108.00 to 115.00 (111.28); 507 to 528 lbs., 103.00 to 109.00 (105.56); 556 to 568 lbs., 96.75 to 103.00 (102.19); 601 to 646 lbs., 90.50 to 96.75 (93.52) calves; 663 to 692 lbs., 89.80 to 94.00 (90.59) calves; 83 head, 657 lbs., 97.10 replacement; 7 head, 734 lbs., 90.85 calves.
