Dodge City livestock sales reportReceipts at Dodge City Winter Livestock Inc., Dodge City, Kan., reported receipts of 3,521 head Jan. 16, compared to 4,574 head last week and 2,354 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 500 to 1000 pounds were steady to $2 lower, except those at 600 to 700 pounds were steady to $1 higher, with instances of $4 higher. Heifers at 450 to 850 pounds were steady to $4 lower, with instances of $5 lower. Slaughter cows were steady to firm. Slaughter bulls were $1 lower. Trade and demand were moderate. Receipts included 75% over 600 pounds, 14% under 600 pounds and 11% slaughter cows and bulls with 359 early. The feeder supply consisted of 57% steers and 43% heifers.
