Wyobraska cattle sales reportThe combined sales volume of Wyoming, western Nebraska and western North and South Dakota auctions for the week ending Jan. 12, totaled 5,700 head, compared to 60 head last week and 10,400 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News, Torrington, Wyo. Feeder cattle had no recent price comparisons at the Wyoming auctions this week. Demand was moderate to good. Direct trading was light with no recent price comparisons available. Buyer demand was light to moderate on light offerings. Unless otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 2 to 3% shrink or equivalent and with a 5 to 10 cent from base weight. Steers made up approximately 54% of the supply, heifers 46%, with 53% over 600 pounds. Direct sales accounted for 1300 head of the total receipts.
