Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,975 head Jan. 14, compared to 4,469 head last week, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder steers were $2 to $4 lower. Stocker heifers and feeder heifers were $3 to $5 lower. Weigh-ups were gaunt to full with most having an average fill. Demand was good on most classes, along with active bidding. Lighter cattle were least noticed. Receipts were comprised of 42% steers, 47% heifers, 11% bulls, with 37% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 409 cows and bulls sold with 43% going to packers. Packer demand was very good, especially on lean cows.
