Texhoma livestock salesThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 2,160 head Jan. 17, compared to 2,375 head last week and 1,350 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $2 lower. Steer calves were not well tested. Heifer calves were $3 lower. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average. The supply included 38% steers, 58% heifers with 80% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 103 cows and bulls sold with 72% going to packers.
