South Central direct sheep

The South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Jan. 11, showed receipts of 100 slaughter lambs and 800 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Trading was at a standstill in the area this week. Available lambs were limited. Slaughter and replacement ewes were not tested. Slaughter meat goats had no recent comparison. Buyers and sellers taking a wait and see attitude.

Slaughter lambs: Texas, 100 head, Choice 2 to 3, 120 lbs., show lambs 90.00 to 92.00.

Slaughter meat goats: Texas, 800 head, Selection 1, 60 to 65 lbs., 110.00. Selection 2, 45 to 50 lbs Angoras 83.00.
