Salina livestock sales reportThe Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 3,335 head Jan. 10, compared to 3,658 head last week and 4,217 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 400 to 550 pounds were $4 to $6 higher, 550 to 700 pounds were $1 to $3 higher, and 700 to 1000 pounds were steady to firm. Heifers at 450 to 600 pounds were $5 to $7 higher, and 600 to 850 pounds were steady. Trade was active, demand was good. Receipts included 76% 600 pounds and over, 23% 600 pounds and under 1% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 65% steers and 35% heifers.
