Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Jan. 11, showed receipts of 1,892 head of sheep and goats, compared to 2,217 head last week and 2,117 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last sale, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Light weight slaughter lambs were $10 to $12 lower, heavy weights were $3 to $5 lower. Stocker and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter goats were $8 to $10 lower. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 500 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Stock ewes, wooled, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, yearling to solid mouth 100 to 125 lbs., 35.00 to 48.00. Dorper ewes, few 90 to 100 lbs., 59.00 to 61.00. Barbados bucks, 80.00 to 120.00 per head. Barbados pairs, few 34.00 to 40.00. Slaughter lambs: Choice and Prime 2 to 3, 90 to 130 lbs., 85.00 to 97.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 80 lbs., 105.00 to 119.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium flesh, 100 to 130 lbs., 30.00 to 35.00. Barbados, lambs, 15 to 40 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00; 45 to 60 lbs., 91.00 to 108.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, few 20 to 40 lbs., 107.00 to 122.00; 40 to 60 lbs., 105.00 to 115.00, few to 117.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 106.00 to 116.00.
