Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 5,380 head Jan. 16, compared to 3,604 head last week and 4,069 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold $1 to $2 higher. Heifers sold mostly steady. Steers comprised 64% of the run, heifers 36%, with 86% over 600 pounds.
