Wyobraska cattle salesThe combined sales volume of Wyoming, western Nebraska and western North and South Dakota auctions for the week ending Jan. 5, totaled 60 head, compared to 635 head last week and 935 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News, Torrington, Wyo. No sales at the Wyoming auctions this week due to the holiday week. Direct trading was light with feeder steers mostly steady on a very thin test. Buyer demand light to moderate on light offerings. Unless otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 2 to 3% shrink or equivalent and with a 5 to 10 cent from base weight. Steers made up approximately 100% of the supply, heifers 0%. Offerings over 600 pounds totaled around 100%. Direct sales accounted for 60 head of the total receipts. Steers: Auctions, Medium to large frame 1, none.
