Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 4,469 head Jan. 7, compared to 3,662 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Due to weather, holidays, and technical problems, no recent reported sales have been made to compare trends. The sale showed a lower undertone in both stocker and feeder cattle. Weigh-ups were mostly average, few full. Demand was good on better cattle, with good attendance of buyers. Receipts consisted of 44% steers, 47% heifers, 9% bulls, with 23% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. A total of 592 cows and bulls sold with 34% going to packers. Packer demand improved with steady to higher money noted on lean cows.
